Innovative vibration fixtures for laboratory tests for the automotive industry.
12 December 2019Photometric tests in laboratories; how we help laboratories in the automotive sector
23 March 2020Tests put purposely a strain on supports; experts make tests in laboratories which reproduce extreme conditions, in case of water-resistant supports.
Among these extreme conditions, simulated rainfall tests on samples are particularly taken into consideration, because water is deleterious for every electronic device; most of the automotive components are made by electronic parts.
Simulated rainfall tests are made on automotive components placed on the outside of the vehicle; the most delicate components are light clusters, of course.
The support for this kind of objects must be made with some fundamental characteristics:
- It is important to faithfully reproduce the portion of bodywork around the perimeter of the lens, in order to valuate the right amount of water that can penetrate between the bodywork and the light cluster,
- the portion of bodywork around the sealing gasket and the component’s attachments should be reproduced in the same way
- The choice, concerning the right materials to use, has its own value to be reliable in time
As designers, we develop all the structures using also additive manufacturing, which allows us to use materials such as plastic and aluminium, molding them according to the necessities described above.
